For a lazy Friday at work, here's a longer clip than normal. I was never a huge fan of Friends, but I can acknowledge that the show had a few choice, memorable moments that provided a great deal of laughs. Today's "Your Comedy Moment" comes from "The One with the Embryos" where Ross hosts a trivia competition between Joey/Chandler and Monica/Rachel. It's a pretty memorable, and funny, scene.

Your Comedy Moment
Name the Cartoon Contest
For this week's contest, I'm having to use a smaller photo than I would normally like, but I'll be impressed if you get the answer right. Leave your answers in the comments.

Live Music on the Television
Can't remember where I read it recently, but someone claimed that live performances of bands captured on television are always unsatisfying to the viewer. I disagree. So now, in order to prove that television can provide the home viewer with memorable, enjoyable musical performances; I submit the Thursday/Monday feature - "Live Music on Television." On each of these days I'll provide a link to great musical performances that combat the hypothesis that live TV is no place for good music.
That being said, I first submit to you a special, three-song* performance that took place on October 30, 1976 on Saturday Night Live. Less than one month before their last concert ever, here's The Band with "Life is a Carnival". After the jump, "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" and "Stage Fright"
* The Band would come back at the end of the night to perform "Georgia on My Mind," but I was unable to find this performance on the internet.

Your Comedy Moment
Feeling nostalgic for when The Office was one of the best comedies on television instead of an infuriating show filled with caricatures and annoying people? Yeah, it seems like so long ago, but it wasn't. Here's the first meeting of Dwight and Andy to remind you of what once was and will hopefully be again.

Top Ten 80s TV Themes - Number 4
Though devising the entire order of this list was no easy task, figuring out the proper structure for the top four themes was especially difficult. The four songs are each quite different from one another but could easily be subbed in and out among themselves. Still, order must be kept or else there is anarchy.
For number four, we feature a tragically underrated and oft forgotten theme. Here's the link if embedding doesn't work. You'll want to listen to this one again and again:

Weeds Season Six Promo
Here's the trailer for the newest season of Weeds, starting August 16 on Showtime. Nancy has become an absolutely reprehensible character over the last few seasons, but I still find myself drawn to the show. Mary Louise Parker just has that charm over me.
Your Comedy Moment
For today's "Your Comedy Moment," I've chosen a sketch that I know will be divisive to my viewing audience. Known as the "Argument Clinic" this bit from Monty Python's Flying Circus is as unique as it is hilarious.
Porn Parody Profile - 30 Rock
For our third installment of the Porn Parody Profile, we're going to be tackling the 30 Rock XXX Parody trailer. I must say that I may have made a mistake in reviewing this one so soon into the feature as it is outstanding and there may be nowhere to go but down. Check out the trailer and my review after the jump.
TV Stories from Around the Net
Going to try and provide my readers with some different, interesting news stories and features that I find from other sources each day. Here's our first foray:
- Conan O'Brien muses outloud about comedy at the San Francisco Sketchfest.
- Alan Sepinwall continues his great summer rewind series by reviewing episode 7 of Firefly, "Jaynestown."
- LOST fandom continues to motor along even though the show has died with the AV Club's quick preview of the LOST props auction.
- It seems like wishful thinking, but apparently Jennifer Love Hewitt is having her name thrown around as a potential, future Bachelorette. Though she denies being approached, her participation on that show would make me an immediate follower and viewer.
- For fans of the show Damages, news broke yesterday that the show has received second-life thanks to the good folks at DirecTV. First Friday Night Lights and now Damages, thanks DirecTV!

Entourage - "Dramedy"
I had planned on debuting my first actual review of a television series today for last night's Entourage... then I watched it.
Instead of wasting my time with reviewing that here's the much better AV Club's review of the episode: here.
My short take - this show really isn't what it used to be. Try as they might, Vince is not an interesting character and thus a main arc revolving entirely around his new-found thrill-seeking attitude is not interesting. Though we've encountered this problem before with Entourage, the usual saving grace of Ari Gold isn't delivering this year either. Hopefully they can pull it together next week (and Drama vs. Stamos has great comedic potential), but after last year and these past three episodes I have my doubts.
Porno parody profile, your comedy moment, and maybe some other specials tomorrow.

Your Comedy Moment
In honor of one of our newest blog followers, "Argosy Court," I chose a clip from Everybody Loves Raymond to be today's clip of the day. Though I never felt "ELR" was the funniest show on TV, I would be hard-pressed to think of an episode that didn't elicit at least a chuckle from me.
Today's clip highlights the old comedy rule that unexpected accidents can provide some of the best fodder for humor. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
